Business Action Against Corruption (Baac) Tanzania Chapter

Tanzania has agreed to establish Business Action Against Corruption (BAAC) under Private Sector  which will be governed by National Anti – Corruption Strategy and Action Plan (NACSAP II) goal No. 4.

Towards the initializations BAAC conducted a one day workshop at the PCCB House Conference Room on 18th June, 2009 to discuss and develop consensus with stakeholders who are Government and Private Sector institutions on the establishment of a BAAC National Chapter in Tanzania.  The workshop was attended by PCCB officers, GGCU and Integrity Committee Members from Ministries and Private Sector Institutions.

BAAC is an activity based on the programmed of the Southern African Forum Against Corruption (SAFAC), the Common Wealth Business Council (CBC) and Human Right and Development Trust of Southern Africa (HURIDETSA) which already involves joint working groups of business and anti corruption commissions in Botswana, Malawi, Zambia and African Institute of Corporate Citizenship
