President Kikwete praises PCCB
President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete said Tanzania has made great strides in preventing and combating corruption and commended the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau for a job well done.
The President said this when officiating the opening of the Executive Committee Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), which was held in Arusha, Tanzania on March 30th, 2012. Dr. Edward Hoseah - The Director General of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) is a member of the IAACA Executive Committee.
“We now have more grand corruption cases in court like never before in Tanzania history…” The president mentioned this to include the enactment of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act No.11 of 2007 which repealed the 1975 legislation.
